Trips, flights, layovers and more
Trip – A guest's full itinerary/reservation. This could be one-way, round-trip, direct or have connections.
Round Trip – Guest books flights from and back to their origin city.
One-way – Guest books flight(s) from their origin city only (no return flight).
Multi-city - A multi-destination trip lets you book up to 5 one-way flights in one trip. It's ideal for travellers who want to explore multiple places without backtracking.
Flight/Flights - guest facing explanation of segments. A guest can have multiple flights in one trip.
Non-stop/Direct - A flight travels directly from the origin to the destination without any layovers or connections. May stop one or more intermediate airports, but guests do not need to change planes.
Layover – An amount of time between connecting flights where the guest switches planes; not usually enough time to leave the airport. Example: 2-hour layover in Calgary
Connecting flight/Connection - the flight you take after the layover to reach your destination. Example: Connection in Calgary
Stopover – Applies to a multi-city booking; a longer layover, lasting more than 24 hours and is sometimes used for sightseeing.
Open jaw – Internal ONLY - refers to a booking where the outbound destination is different than the return's origin.
